Every year, Visconti commemorates a famous figure from history. In 2023, they present an incredible tribute to Alexander the Great to mark the 2300th anniversary of his death. The limited edition Alexander the Great pen, honoring this key figure of ancient civilization, showcases intricate details that pay homage to the short but courageous life of the young conqueror.

Alexander the Great, victorious in numerous battles and conqueror of vast territories, passed away in Babylon at the age of only 32, leaving behind an extraordinary legacy. He founded and reestablished countless cities, including the largest of the ancient world—Alexandria in Egypt, the center of Hellenistic civilization.

Visconti crafts this remarkable collection in a cylindrical shape, featuring sculpted details reminiscent of Greek columns. The map of Alexander the Great's empire, created using scrimshaw technique, is made darker to contrast with the ivory-colored resin on the barrel and cap. The metal trim is made of aged bronze and adorned with typical Greek embellishments.

The central ring bears an inscription with the text 'Alexander the Great,' and a gilded plate with an image of the face of this remarkable figure is placed on the bronze band of the barrel. As a tribute to the Macedonian phalanx, the clip, also made of aged bronze, takes the form of a spear and is adorned with a gilded shield displaying the sun, the family emblem of Alexander the Great.
